As a former soldier who was just immersed in sensible mind, L-elf had to admitted, that he had been addicted to imagination.

When he stepped out of the Valvrave, with both his lights extinguished in the universe, he knew he could have spent his rest few days—a result of excessive uptake of runes, rather casually. However, maybe due to the impact of Haruto’s rune left in his body, momently he seemed to see that guy of endless naiveness smiling to him, “please don’t forget our promise.”

From then on, L-elf began to image that Harotu was still with him when left alone. Even though the L-elf with others was still a cold guy who had accepted Haruto’s death.

Silently, starring at the Haruto’s coffin being interred, L-elf’s peaceful eyes finally moved. In fact, he was imaging that, if Haruto was standing by him, what face would he have when seeing himself to be buried. And the one came into his mind was Haruto’s embarrassed face for his poor skill when he kissed L-elf to get rune for the first time. L-elf settled back and found his eyes being wet, with the imaged Haruto disappeared.

At first, he just thought these daydreams of least importance, while gradually, he found himself falling deeper and deeper.

Before the final battle, Kibukawa had founda vital sign of another life in L-elf’s body. Facing with the fact that he had been pregnant, which totally destroyed his previous knowledge about pregnancy, he made an agreement with Kibukawa to keep it confidential, both for the circumstance then and his dignity. When rooming together, he once had sex with Haruto to provide rune, for Haruto had no heart to see him suffering from anemia. Even though he knew how these alien guys give birth to generations, being pregnant in such a situation still aroused his sense of wrath and humiliation, while after Haruto’s death, this life seemed to become the only connection that he left for him.

Under the advice of Kibukawa, L-elf eventually separated this life from his body. The green light ball in the size of a walnut aroused his curiosity. What kind of life would such a ball of runefinally become? However, to maintain it, L-elf had to give his rune until its birth. Even though Kibukawa insisted to wither it, he determined to feed it with his rune of a rare amount left, coldly saying it was only a promise.

Every day he came to this laboratory underground to give his rune to this life. When asked about his fatigue, he vaguely attributed it to the excessive work of the new empire. When he stood at the huge glass ware, the green light casted on his pale face. Rune flew from his body. He began to image again that Haruto was staring at this life with him, like a young couple expecting their child’s birth. The curious smile of Haruto came into his mind. He turned to L-elf with softness in his blue eye. Such an image released his feel of emptiness, and his mouth featured a light smile.

Even though I will lose all my memories, if the memory of you still with me, I …

Even though, both of them were incapable to witness the birth of this life, which marked their halves.

Sara never ceased her pretending. She pretended that Emily turned alive when she left her room, starting another world with her other toys. Even if she was driven to the attic from her warm and bright room, she still pretended, that the attic was just another wonderland, and eventually she would get gifts from fairies. Consequently, the little princess’s dream came true. The miracle came. No matter that she had lost her father, or she was already a beggar, she would always be aprincess—even though a princess in imagination.

However, imagination never turns practical. L-elf knew he would never have miracles like fairytale. All along he knew Haruto had gone forever, and never had he dreamed about the world after death where he could meet Haruto again. While he kept imaged softly when alone.

The Emperor who insisted living in Room M2-036 had a routine cup of coffee every day. Unconsciously, L-elf had formed ahabit to have coffee with sugar. After a cup of black coffee was ready, with his mind drifting away, he seemed to see Haruto frowned his eyebrows due to the bitter taste. L-elf added more sugar and milk, and he saw Haruto smiled joyfully, who was born and grown in a peaceful country of excessive sweetness.

Such daydreams is just like sweet poison that makes you addicted. The boy with silver hair smiled bitterly. Yokan that he loves seemed not sweet any more.

It’s gradually impossible to keep it a secret that he was growing weaker and weaker. He had to tell the factor of the existing life to everyone. Being informed of the only trace of Haruto left in this world, Shyoko burst into crying mixed with delight and sorrow. L-elf also noticed the complexity in Saki’s eyes, but he just smiled it off. He didn’t like Shyoko and was not ashamed to admit his dislike, both for her naïve mind and what she owed to Haruto. Saki was disappointed in complex feelings, but worried more about L-elf—it’s equal to chronical suicide to offer his rune to that life. She once talked to him privately, whose answer without emotion hurt her heart.

Even though I will run out of my life, please don’t let it die after my death.

L-elf began to image after Saki’s leaving. What would that fool guy do facing such an embarrassment of his lovers. These two boys never expressed their feelings to each other, but from the fusional rune he knew that Haruto would never blame Shyoko though he would never love her any longer, and he knew he was guilt for what he did to Saki. As for L-elf, both of them understood the affection between them, which was something beyond friendship or physical relationship. L-elf thought that Haruto would apologize for leaving those two girls to him, and throwing him to such an embarrassment.

Something was destined. When in his 30s, weakand fragile, he could not afford the rune supplement any more.

He lied in bed and closed his eyes peacefully. Saki, whose face remained as she was 17, prepared a cup of coffee with milk for him every day. She once said, it’s good enough that he still remembered the story of coffee and sugar told by Haruto.

He stared at the window without looking ather. He murmured, it’s not a memory, but something carved in mind.

【I know you by heart. You are inside my heart.】

With this fragrance of coffee, he couldn’t help to imaging that the one attending to him was just the boy of sugar sweetened him. L-elf seemed to see that Haruto was in deep sorrow about his health, who also wanted to comfort him during his last period of life. It was such a joke of God. That life had already gained the shape of a human baby, whose two fathers were even unable to see his birth. Haruto in his imagination was also sorry for it. He felt, the girl’s hands hold ing him seemed to become the boy’s rough palms.

He finally passed away, with a light smile on his pale face.

Can I, as my wish, approach your world?

“I’ve touched them all. They are as real as we are. The Magic has come and done it, Becky, while we were asleep—the Magic that won’t let those worst things ever quite happen.”

--chapter15, Magic, A Little Princess

“You finally come. I have waited for so long.”

“Nice to meet you, again.”

End
